Richard F. Cason

Founder and CEO of Emancipation Financial Wellness Group™

My life experiences have been marked by a deep commitment to public service and a passion for making a positive impact on my community. After graduating from high school in Miami, Florida, I followed in my father’s footsteps to join the US Army. My active-duty assignment was in Southern Germany, where I served honorably as an administrative specialist in personnel for a nuclear lance missile battalion commander. After leaving the military, I pursued a career as a federal immigration officer with the US Department of Justice. This experience gave me a unique perspective on the challenges facing immigrant communities and how important it is to create safe, inclusive environments.

I went on to pursue my Masters in Information Technology from Barry University in Miami. Since then, I’ve spent almost two decades in the business sector, starting a federally-certified minority Small 8a entrepreneurial business. Being mentored by the legendary late Orzell Billingsley Jr. of Alabama, who served as lead attorney to Martin Luther King, Jr., gave me a strong heritage background as a Black American civil rights business leader. In that role, I developed my deep commitment to civil rights and social justice and dedication to helping the poor and disenfranchised citizens of Florida – especially communities of color.

Working with underprivileged and underserved Floridians has shown me first-hand how many individuals are struggling with debt, food or housing insecurity, and credit problems, all due to simply lacking knowledge about money management. Financial education is crucial for everyone, regardless of their age or background. I’ve seen how financial literacy can empower people to make smart financial choices and avoid debt, bankruptcy, and financial insecurity. I want to share my knowledge and experiences to help people understand the importance of budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt. Learning those simple lessons can inspire them to take charge of their own financial futures, build wealth, and achieve financial freedom.

Credentials

As CEO and Editor in Chief of NewsMovesMarketsForex®, I’ve committed myself to socially conscious business that makes a positive impact on my community. Recently I earned credentials as a Certified Financial Education Instructor® and Certified Financial Wellness Professional through the National Financial Educators Council. Now I have expanded into the financial wellness industry by launching a new business endeavor, Emancipation Financial Wellness Group.

Leading this financial wellness campaign in the Miami area and contributing to the Florida Financial Educators Council’s Advisory Board will give me a chance to bring personal finance literacy initiatives across the state, providing guidance and education to people in socially underserved and under-represented communities. By forging partnerships and alliances with non-profit, government, and corporate sponsors, I hope to make a real, powerful difference in Florida communities and in people’s lives.

In 2006 Richard F. Cason founded one of the first Black-owned firms in Miami to be awarded petroleum and water treatment industrial contracts through the Miami-Dade County Small Minority Business Program. In 2017, Cason began NewsMovesMarketsForex®, a socially conscious online forum that provides financial news and analysis to traders and investors around the world from a Black perspective. As of September 2021, the blog has evolved into an Online News Media company ranked by FeedSpot.com as the “66th Top Forex Blog/Website Worldwide and also ranked by FeedSpot.com as the “6th Top Best Conservative Leadership Blogs and Websites Worldwide.”

As of 2023, NewsMovesMarketsForex has branched into the financial wellness industry by launching a new division, Emancipation Financial Wellness Group (EFWG). EFWG is a community outreach initiative to bring economic empowerment to underprivileged and underserved Florida communities – especially communities of color – through financial wellness education.

The EFWG division marks a significant move in the financial wellness sector. This new branch aims to provide personal financial literacy programs to socially under-represented communities through forming strong partnerships and alliances with sponsors from the non-profit, government, and corporate sectors.

Richard F. Cason is well-positioned to lead the financial wellness campaigns for EFWG. He recently earned designations as a Certified Financial Education Instructor® and Certified Financial Wellness Professional through the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC). Cason also served on the Miami-Dade County Small Business Advisory Board from 2006-2011. He has been selected as a founding member of the Florida Financial Educators Council’s Advisory Board.
